Jarrett was born in Elk Grove, California and received a B.S. in biomedical engineering at Duke University in May 2014. He looks back upon those four years very fondly, as he received a fantastic education, gained valuable research experience, and for the first time saw atmospheric precipitation on a regular basis. Now at UC Davis in Dr. Athanasiou’s ambitious and exciting laboratory, Jarrett aims to translate our promising cartilage tissue engineering approach to a clinical setting. In particular, he plans to place an emphasis on devising strategies to seamlessly integrate engineered tissues to native cartilage. While not in lab, you might find him participating in intramural sports with classmates, playing golf at Davis Muni, or walking the streets of San Francisco with old college friends.
